If you deliver for a living, your kit is not a hobby purchase. It is a business input, and it gets judged on completely different numbers to the same gear bought for weekends.

Three things matter more to you than they do to anyone else:

Road-legality is not trivia. For a leisure rider, EAPC compliance is a technicality. For a courier it is seizure of the bike, a possible prosecution, and an insurance policy that will not pay out on a vehicle that was never legal to ride. Everything here carrying the UK Road Legal (EAPC) tag has been checked against the 250W continuous rating, the 15.5mph cut-off, working pedals and throttle behaviour. Where a listing claims compliance its own manufacturer contradicts, we leave it out.

Range is a P&L line, not a spec. A 45-mile claim made on flat ground with a 70kg rider and no load is not the number you will see with a full thermal bag on a wet January evening. Work out what it means for drops per charge before you buy.

Reliability is income. A flat tyre, a dead phone or a soaked bag is not an inconvenience, it is a shift you do not get paid for. That changes what is worth spending on and what is worth carrying.
