Description
A palm-sized electric inflator that does the one thing a hand pump cannot: you set the pressure you want, press go, and it stops on its own when it gets there. For e-bike riders that matters more than it does for road cyclists, because heavier bikes run higher pressures and getting there by hand is genuine work.
How it actually performs
The manufacturer's figures are specific enough to be useful, and they are the numbers worth judging it on:
- A 27.5 x 2.2in mountain bike tyre, 0 to 38 PSI, in roughly 1 minute 45
- A 700x23C road tyre, 0 to 100 PSI, in about 2 minutes
- A top-up from 80 to 100 PSI on that road tyre, around 40 seconds
A full charge covers about 6 road tyres or 9 mountain bike tyres, so it is a tool you charge occasionally rather than before every ride. It runs from full charge to flat without needing to cool down between tyres, which is where a lot of compact inflators fall short.
The two features that earn it a place in a saddlebag
Preset and walk away. Dial in your pressure, and it shuts off when it reaches it. No gauge-watching, no over-inflating, no second-guessing a wobbly analogue needle in the cold.
It remembers. The memory function keeps your last mode and pressure, so the pump you pick up next week is already set to the tyre you actually ride.
Fit and valves
Adapters for Schrader, Presta and Dunlop are in the box, which covers essentially every bike you are likely to own. Two ball needles are included as well, so it doubles as the thing that finally inflates the footballs in the shed.
It measures roughly 14.6 x 5.1 x 4.1cm and weighs about 345g, and it comes with a waterproof bag that straps to the frame and holds the pump, hose and adapters together.
Worth knowing before you buy
The 2 to 150 PSI range covers road, gravel, MTB, city bikes, e-bikes and motorcycles. It is not a car tyre inflator in any practical sense: a car tyre needs volume rather than pressure, and a pump this size would take a very long time to move that much air.
At this size, it is a top-up and roadside-repair tool. If you are seating a stubborn tubeless tyre, you still want a track pump or a charger tank.
