Smith

Smith are an American eyewear and helmet brand, founded in 1965 in the ski world, who now make a commuter-focused cycling range alongside their mountain and road helmets. The Dispatch MIPS listed here is the one that matters most to e-bike riders, because Smith certify it to NTA 8776 as well as EN 1078. NTA 8776 is the Dutch speed-pedelec standard, tested at a higher impact speed than an ordinary cycle helmet. Smith pair MIPS with Koroyd, a layer of crushable tubes placed in zones around the shell, and tend to design their helmets to integrate with their own glasses. Worth knowing that NTA 8776 still does not make it a motorcycle helmet, so it does not cover a bike that exceeds the EAPC limits.
