The DUOTTS C29 Electric Bike combines performance and practicality, making it a suitable choice for riders seeking an efficient e-mountain bike for diverse terrains.

Key Features

  • Battery: 48V 15Ah removable battery, offering a range of 80-100 km with pedal assist and 50-60 km in pure electric mode.
  • Motor: 250W brushless motor for smooth acceleration and hill climbing.
  • Gears: 21-speed Shimano gear system for adaptable riding.
  • Display: LCD screen showing speed, battery level, and distance.
  • Brakes: Front and rear disc brakes for reliable stopping power.
  • Frame: Durable aluminum alloy frame with front suspension fork.
  • Tires: 29-inch tires suitable for various terrains.
  • Assist cutoff: pedal assistance is limited to 25 km/h (15.5 mph) on the EU-spec 250W motor, confirmed via DUOTTS' official specifications.
  • Throttle: fitted with an electric half-handle throttle that drives the bike without pedalling, powering the 50-60 km pure electric mode range rather than a walk-assist-only throttle.
  • Pedals: functional Shimano Tourney 3x7-speed (21-speed total) derailleur drivetrain confirmed, so the bike also rides as a conventional pedal bike.
  • Pros

Long Range: Extended battery life suitable for long commutes.
Versatility: 21-speed gears accommodate different riding conditions.
User-Friendly: LCD display enhances ride monitoring.
Safety: Effective braking system ensures rider safety.

    Cons

Weight: The bike may be heavier due to the battery and motor.
Assembly: Initial setup might require time and effort.
NOT FULLY UK ROAD LEGAL AS AN EAPC - the electric half-handle throttle propels the bike without pedalling right up to its 25 km/h top speed, not just a 6 km/h walk-assist speed. Even though the 250W motor and 25 km/h cutoff are otherwise within the EAPC limits, a throttle that drives the bike unassisted at full speed takes it outside the EAPC definition, so it needs type approval, registration, tax, insurance, a licence and an approved helmet to be ridden on public roads, cycle paths or shared-use paths.
